Baby Quilt

I made this sweet little baby quilt for my new little boy.  I think it is such a cute, simple pattern and perfect for a baby boy.  I was so excited when I found it, because it seems that there are TONS of cute patterns for baby girls, but not much for baby boys.  I found the pattern here.  It was a simple quilt to piece.  It used just one jelly roll (with leftovers) and some solid yardage.  I am so happy with how it turned out.
This is the back.  Also pieced with strips from the jelly roll.  So cute!!

P.S.  The fabric I used is Lily and Will II by Moda

Divinity Cookies

These little meringue cookies are easy to make.  The have a lightly crispy exterior, with a chewy, chocolatey interior.  We love them at our house, but, let me warn you, a sweet tooth is required to enjoy these.

Divinity Cookies

2 egg whites
1/8 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
3/4 C. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 6 oz. pkg. chocolate chips
1/4 cup finely chopped nuts (optional)

Beat egg whites with salt and cream of tartar until soft peaks form.  With mixer still running slowly add the sugar and beat until stiff.  Fold in vanilla, chocolate chips, and nuts.  Drop by rounded teaspoon (I use my cookie scoop) on wax paper covered cookie sheet.  Bake for 25 minutes at 300 degrees. Makes 2 dozen cookies.
*Unfortunately, this recipe does not work out well if doubled.

Baby Car Seat Cover

I made this car seat cover using the tutorial over at Cluck Cluck Sew.  I made a few modifications to allow me to work with fabric I had on hand.  It was a simple project and I am so glad to have something to keep my new little guy covered while we are out and about.
