Cut-off shorts

Today I spent a few minutes making cut-off shorts from jeans with holes in the knees, using this method.  I don't really love the look of cut-offs that are fraying out of control, so this method takes care of that problem and is an easy way to salvage jeans to be used as summer play clothes.  All-in-all it took about 25 minutes to do 14 pairs.

I also spent about 5 minutes salvaging my three-year-olds favorite shirt.

The bottom of this long-sleeved shirt had gotten chewed up by our washer.  (That darn front-loader.  People love them, but I am not a fan.)

So, this much-loved long-sleeved shirt is now a cute short-sleeved shirt.  Perfect for Summer.
